Current Member-Candidates

James Clasby

St Lucie County Commission District 1 Candidate

“I am running for office because I believe our county deserves a new, authentic, educated, and experienced voice. I will fight to keep taxes low, take steps to make SLC the cleanest county in Florida, make improving infrastructure a priority, and support our first responders to make SLC an even safer place to live, work, and play. It is time for a change in District 1. When elected I will be the most accessible commissioner this county has ever seen. I will be a valuable asset to all county residents and a natural fit on the current board to help lead St. Lucie County into the future.”

Michael Syrkus

Martin County Commission District 5 Candidate

Michael’s priorities are simple:

Fiscal Stability

“We cannot keep spending beyond our means. With debt high and savings low, is it any wonder why the commission raises our taxes yearly?”

Stop Special Exemptions to our Building Codes

“The continued special development outside the USB is destroying natural habitats, ruining quality of life and erasing our community heritage. It must end.”

Develop the Next Generation of Leaders

“I refuse to spend more than 8 years on the BoCC. Term limits are essential, so WE MUST develop a new crop of public servants to carry our mission forward.”
